OPTIMIZED ROUTES
TRAVERSALS ARE A KEY COMPONENT TO ROUTE OPTIMIZATION
Analytics applied to breadcrumb data determines key work content factors
for calculating traversals.
CLUSTERING – Algorithm that determines line of travel and stops using most
frequently observed breadcrumb data
CLUSTERS – Frequent stops occurring at least 30% of time
INTERVALS – Average breadcrumb path from cluster to cluster
DRIVING PATH – Average breadcrumb path observed travelling through
each cluster in sequence
SEGMENTS – Driving Path matched to road network data, enabling a route to
be divided into road segments

OPTIMIZED ROUTES
Using new data sources and analytic techniques reduces last mile costs by 6% on a single,
“optimized’ route. If you apply a greenfield approach you save between 10% and 40% more.
Accurate delivery points are loaded into the tool
which cycles through possible combinations to
determine optimal routing – ideally on daily basis.
Includes variables such as typical traffic conditions,
delivery instructions, driving restrictions, etc.
GPS analytics used to monitor compliance and re-
optimize as conditions change.
