The global smartphone applications processor (AP) market fell by 2 percent year-on-year to USD 4.8 billion in Q2 2019, according to Strategy Analytics, according to Telecompaper.
Qualcomm maintained its market lead with a 40 percent revenue share, followed by Apple (20%), Samsung LSI (13%), HiSilicon and MediaTek. Smartphone applications processors with on-device AI engines accounted for almost 50 percent of total smartphone APs shipped in Q2 2019, up from around 30 percent in Q2 2018, according to Telecompaper.
